What led you to choose to study engineering and to decide on the specific major you chose?
I chose engineering because it is a field in which I can make life better for others. I chose industrial engineering, in particular, because I want to improve the processes and products around me and make them defect-free.

Can you name a professor who was particularly instrumental in helping you grow as a student? How and in what way did they impact you?
Linda Chattin, a senior lecturer in the School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering, helped me grow as a student by believing in me and encouraging me to go to graduate school. Also, Dan Shunk, a professor in the School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering, inspired me by his amazing work and set an example for how to become an excellent industrial engineer.

What are your plans after graduation? Graduate school? Do you have a job lined up?
I will be working in the facility planning department at Saudi Aramco based in Dahran, Saudi Arabia. Someday I would like to come back to graduate school and get my master’s and doctoral degrees. Also, I would like to have my own company in which I can implement the concepts I have learned.
