Schexnayder honored with ASCE Lifetime Achievement Award, election to National Academy of Construction

Clifford Schexnayder, emeritus eminent scholar in the Del E. Webb School of Construction Program in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment, was honored by the American Society of Civil Engineers for his lifetime achievements in education.

This year, Schexnayder was also elected to the National Academy of Construction for his accomplishments as a “powerful advocate for bringing industry experience into the classroom to create a bridge between theory and application of engineering knowledge.”

Schexnayder held the eminent scholar positions at ASU from 1994 to 2003. He returned as faculty associate in 2011. He began his teaching career at Purdue University and later taught at Louisiana Tech, Virginia Tech and the U.S. Air Force Academy.

He’s the co-author of the textbooks Construction Planning, Equipment, and Methods, now in its eighth edition, and Construction Management Fundamentals.
