Global Outreach and Extended Education

The Office of Global Outreach and Extended Education (GOEE) provides professional development opportunities and advanced education for international academic institutions, governments and corporations.

GOEE offers engineering professionals high-impact curriculum including non-credit short courses, custom programs or online graduate degrees and certificates.

GOEE has over 20 years of experience providing distance education delivery. In 2003, the program began offering engineering graduate degrees completely online.

Students in GOEE’s programs gain access to the same renowned faculty members and nationally-ranked programs as the on-campus programs.

GOEE programs currently reach more than 500 students in non-credit and professional programs every year.

GOEE’s online and executive programs include: electrical engineering, enterprise systems innovation and management (ESIM), industrial engineering, software engineering, materials science engineering, embedded systems, modeling and simulation, quality and reliability engineering, systems engineering, transportation, construction, sustainable technology and management and Six Sigma.

GOEE is involved with students and organizations in Malaysia, South Korea, Costa Rica, Mexico, the Philippines, Ireland, Colombia, Vietnam and China. Customized executive education programs are available for national and international corporations.

GOEE is currently leading a three-year, public-private partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Intel, the government of Vietnam and Portland State University. The goal of this partnership is to enhance the quality of engineering education at Vietnam’s top technical universities.
