Jeremy Lowe – Outstanding Graduate

Jeremy Lowe
B.S. in Graphic Information Technology
Graduated from Freeport High School in Freeport, Illinois

Jeremy Lowe loves to draw and went to art school. He started as an ASU online student, and transferred to the Graphic Information Technology program. During this last year he has worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant. Jeremy likes to spend his time making the Internet a more “magical place.”

Why did you choose ASU?
I felt ASU gave me the best opportunity to fulfill on my potential. It had a program, Graphic Information Technology, that aligned with my professional interests and I thought I could excel here.

What was a memorable moment at ASU for you?
For me the “ah-ha” moment came as a result of a portfolio review with industry professionals. Web design/development ceased to be a hobby or side interest and became more of a proper professional interest after meeting people that actually did it for a living.

Can you name a professor that was instrumental in helping you grow?
Lecturer Susan Squire. I received positive feedback from all my professors, but the interest she took encouraged me to keep trying to push beyond my own capabilities.

What are your plans after graduation?
My plan is to start a career as an interactive designer. I would like to stop following the latest technology trends, and start creating them instead.
